PORT ANGELES — Port of Port Angeles Executive Director Bob McChesney tendered his resignation today after the Port of Edmonds commissioners approved a contract with him Monday night.
McChesney’s last day in Port Angeles will be May 15.
He will begin work in Edmonds the next week in a transition period with Edmonds’ exiting director, Chris Keuss, said Edmonds Commissioner Fred Gouge.
“We’re quite excited — we had a great executive director, but we’re looking forward to Robert joining us,” Gouge said.
No interim director has been selected, said John Calhoun, Port of Port Angeles commission president. Commissioners will discuss it at their next meeting, he added.
“We have a little time,” Calhoun said.
“We’ll have that discussion and figure out what to do in future meetings.”
McChesney will make $120,000 annually. He now earns $123,000 per year he makes at the Port of Port Angeles.
His official first day as executive director will be June 1, Gouge said.
