PORT ANGELES — Former Sequim real estate agent Tanya Kerr has been hired as the Port of Port Angeles’ new full-time property manager, replacing incoming port Commissioner-elect Colleen McAleer.
McAleer, whose final day as the port’s property manager and director of business development is today, will be sworn in at the beginning of Monday’s commissioners meeting, Human Resources Manager Holly Hairell said.
The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. at the port administrative building, 338 W. First St.
Business development
Hairell said commissioners have not decided to fill the position of director of business development.
Kerr is the former managing broker at RE/MAX Fifth Avenue in Sequim.
McAleer, a former real estate agent for RE/MAX Team McAleer, joined Hairell and interim port Executive Director Ken O’Hollaren in interviewing three finalists for the position, Hairell said.
She said the port will not release the names of the other two finalists, citing a state Public Records Act exemption that allows the names to not be disclosed.
There were 19 applicants for the position.
Salaries
Kerr, of Sequim, who has been doing property management since Dec. 19, earns $72,471.
McAleer earns $82,131 as property director of business development-property manager.
McAleer defeated Del DelaBarre in the November election for the Sequim-area District 1 seat.
The first woman commissioner in the port’s 90-year history, she replaces appointed Commissioner Paul McHugh, who did not advance past the primary election.
