Port of Port Angeles marine terminals closed Independence Day

PORT ANGELES — The marine terminal facilities at the foot of Cedar Street will be closed to the public today.

The closure is due to special cargo and topside repair operations, as well as ongoing security concerns since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Port officials said.

In the past, Port of Port Angeles marine terminals were a favorite viewing spot for the Fourth of July fireworks display over the harbor.

Officials said Wednesday that they regret limiting public access, but the closing is needed to ensure public safety.
