PORT TOWNSEND — Port of Port Townsend commissioners have voted to curtail spending until revenues increase.
During a late night meeting Wednesday, Port Director of Finance Donald Taylor suggested the measure to keep budget forecasts on track.
Port commissioners agreed.
In the Port’s $3.89 million budget plan, the agency predicted a profit of about $116,000.
But there is less activity at the Port’s boatyard than predicted, Facilities Manager Jim Pivarnik said.
The spending moratorium will not affect urgent projects, Pivarnik said.
“If things need to be done, we’ll still do them,” he said.
