PORT TOWNSEND — Ryan Neil Sorensen has been ordered to avoid contact with his ex-wife — the daughter of the man he is accused of killing — for 50 years.
Jefferson County Superior Court Commissioner Richard Shaneyfelt enacted the order of protection sought by Shawna-Kay Smith on Friday.
Smith, daughter of the late Frank M. “Skip” Smith Jr., requested the protection order for her and the couple’s children on May 16.
Sorensen, 30, is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting 62-year-old Skip Smith to death at his business, Smith’s Services, in Port Hadlock on April 29.
Shaneyfelt imposed a protection order for the couple’s daughters, ages 3 and 5, for one year.
