PORT TOWNSEND — It’s BIG.
That’s the first impression you get when you enter the new dining hall at Fort Worden State Park.
“When you walk into it, the size of it just takes your breath away,” said Penny Westerfield.
Led by park manager Kate Burke, Westerfield and members of the Friends of Fort Worden and the Fort Worden Advisory Committee got a preview of the $6 million dining hall over the weekend.
Started last July, the project is expected to be completed by the end of September, with the grand opening celebration scheduled for Oct. 25.
