PORT TOWNSEND — About 90 workers in the paper bag-making plant of Port Townsend Paper Corp. will be laid off when the plant is closed for good just two days after Christmas.
Company President John Begley announced the closure Monday.
He said the bag plant has long been unprofitable, and more so in the past several months despite better productivity and efficiency by plant workers.
