PORT TOWNSEND — A two-story medical office building with a 42-car parking garage is in the works on land north of the hospital.
The 8,470-square-foot building will be built on land that was apparently an old orchard at the corner of 10th and Cleveland streets.
The parking garage would take up the basement of the building.
Builder Michael Anderson of Port Townsend Medical Building, Inc. did not return phone calls about the project Thursday.
It is not clear if tenants are signed up to occupy the structure.
Anderson filed the building permit application in July. Recently, the city Building and Community Development Department determined the construction wouldn’t cause a “significant adverse impact on the environment.”
Comments arguing the contrary must be received in the next week.
Letters can be submitted, about the project LUP 03-092, to the department by 4 p.m. on Jan. 15 at 181 Quincy St., Suite 301, Port Townsend, WA 98368.
