PORT TOWNSEND — A flulike virus continues to hammer student attendance at Blue Heron Middle School.
School officials say 63 of 415 students — about 15 percent of the entire student body — called in sick Wednesday.
That’s down from the 78 students — 19 percent –calling in sick Tuesday and 91 — 22 percent — calling in sick Monday.
“It’s not often that I have that large a percentage of kids sick,” Blue Heron Principal Ami Fields said Wednesday.
No other schools in Clallam or Jefferson counties reported as high a percentage of students home sick.
