Port Townsend boat all decked out to win contest

John McDwell stands aboard his boat, Gypsy Woman, which won the boat decorating competition in the Deck the Docks event held at the Port of Port Townsend.

He won a free haul-out for his display, which means if he needs to have Gypsy Woman removed from the water, the port will do it once for free.

A haul-out normally costs more than $300.

Deck the Docks was held Thursday and featured hot chocolate, the Unexpected Brass Band, a community photo and other holiday staples.
