PORT TOWNSEND — U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell will visit the North Olympic Peninsula on Saturday for the first time since winning last year’s election.
Cantwell, D-Mountlake Terrace, will join Peninsula residents at the seventh annual Democrat Fish Feast at 5 p.m. in the Palindrome, 1891 S. Jacob Miller Road.
“This will be her first visit to Jefferson County since her stunning upset of (Slade) Gorton last November,” said Nancy Biery, chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Jefferson County. “We are thrilled that Maria will be with us at our most well-attended function of the year.”
The Fish Feast will feature alder-barbecued sockeye salmon cooked by chefs Larry Dennison and Bob Marett, as well as fresh local clams, mussels, and oysters from Taylor United Shellfish Co., located along Hood Canal.
