PORT TOWNSEND — The process of selecting a new chamber executive director was set back a week after 27 resumes were received from every corner of the country, as well as from Canada.
“The resumes are taking a lot longer than we thought,” said Ryan Anderson, who is directing the Port Townsend Chamber of Commerce executive board selection committee.
Anderson, 2009 chamber president-elect, had said last week that he expected to see finalists winnowed out sometime this week.
Instead, the personnel commission of the chamber executive board members will narrow the list down next Thursday, he said.
How short that list will be is unknown.
The chamber is looking for a director for the 420-member chamber after the position was left vacant at the end of June.
Tim Caldwell, who served in the post for 16 years, resigned to join Puget Sound Energy as its downtown Port Townsend office manager.
