PORT TOWNSEND — The City Council today is expected to adopt a strategic plan, which will describe its best hope for a solution to the interruption of car ferry service.
The plan is to be given to legislators and the governor’s office as the state Legislature convenes a 60-day session on Monday.
“We want to have something available to present to the Legislature during this session as they try to address the situation,” Port Townsend City Manager David Timmons said Saturday.
The City Council will meet in a retreat to discuss goals and strategies to address the changes in ferry service at 1 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall, 250 Madison St.
A special meeting will be opened immediately after the discussion to consider adopting a plan.
“If more people come” than can fit in the conference room, “we’re going to have to move the location into the chambers,” Timmons said.
