PORT TOWNSEND — A seven-hour retreat Saturday left City Council members with a collective feeling of a job well done, a mood not the norm for the often divided board.
“If we adhere to the promises we made, this year might be less contentious than last year,” Councilman Geoff Masci said after the meeting.
That feeling was echoed by Mayor Kees Kolff.
“The meeting showed that we do share a lot of common ground,” he said.
Among the major topics discussed by the council were policy changes, committee structure shifts and an urgent need to push ahead with economic development.
Council members sided with each other on many of the issues.
