PORT TOWNSEND — A 90-day clock had already started against the owner of the 65-foot Noi’i wooden boat found sinking Sunday at Boat Haven.
The Port of Port Townsend placed a warning sticker on the boat last week because owner L. Wayne Lamp of Everett hadn’t paid his monthly moorage fee in two months.
The Port can dispose of the Noi’i in three months if Lamp fails to pay his overdue moorage fees plus an estimated $1,500 incurred when Port employees had to haul the boat out of the water.
The boat could become the first test case for the state’s new derelict vessel fund.
