PORT TOWNSEND — The City Council is expected to approve a revised ethics code and related complaint review process next week.
Under a revised policy being proposed, the city attorney would decide on the merits of ethics complaints before forwarding issues to an independent hearings officer for review.
“We don’t want frivolous complaints filed,” City Manager David Timmons said Monday during a City Council workshop on revising the existing city ethics policy.
The City Council is expected to take up the proposed code when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday in City Hall, 540 Water St.
