The state ferries service has announced that the Port Townsend-Coupeville route returned to service at 1:39 p.m. today (Thursday), but with vehicle weight restrictions.
Service was stopped at about 10:44 a.m. today because of terminal repairs at the Keystone Harbor site on Whidbey Island, according to the Port Townsend Leader.
Vehicle weight is limited to 32,000 pounds, Washington State Ferries said, adding that vehicles will load and off-loan in a single lane at the Coupeville terminal.
Reservation holders will be prioritized on a first-come, first-serve basis.
All reservation holders unable to travel today because of cancellations will not be penalized, according to Washington State Ferries.
The fall schedule for the two ferries on the route, the Kennewick and Salish, began last Sunday. Two-boat service on the route will continue through Oct. 13, with service cut back to one ferry on Oct. 14.
