PORT TOWNSEND — Seattle-based Cruise West’s Spirit of Endeavor makes its first port of call in Port Townsend on Friday, a Jefferson County Historical Society official said.
Marsha Moratti, Jefferson County Museum coordinator, said the 217-foot-long, 102-passenger cruise ship is scheduled to moor at 10 a.m. at City Dock downtown.
Cruise West this year named Port Townsend a port of call over La Conner on its Pacific Northwest Coastal Escape cruise.
The historical society is contracting with Cruise West to provide historic walking tours in which four guides dressed as historic Port Townsend figures will lead tours.
Karen Kuest, Cruise West programs manager, said in March that Port Townsend was chosen over La Conner because it is on the historic register, is charming and quaint, and has a lot to offer to pedestrian traffic.
