PORT TOWNSEND — Fairies and pirates, killer tomatoes and a big-footed gnome were among the hundreds of trick-or-treaters of all shapes and sizes who marched down Water Street on Sunday in the Main Street Halloween Parade.
Covering six blocks, the parade appeared to have drawn the biggest turn-out in the history of the event.
Among the trick-or-treaters, who collected candy from merchants afterward, was Charlotte Kline, 4, dressed as an octopus.
Shannon Carter was a fruit fly, complete with eggs.
Holly Hill, dressed as Peter Pan, and Scott Spencer, as Captain Hook, came from Seattle for the parade with daughter Lucy, dressed as a devil.
Bill Lindgren was a space invader in a helmet made of Styrofoam cups and body armor made of egg cartons.
John Camastro, a big-footed gnome, walked the route with daughter Ula, a unicorn.
