PORT TOWNSEND — Prosecuting and defense attorneys will submit written evidence to the court today in the bench trial of the man accused of the 1992 stabbing death of a Quilcene girl begins.
Lawyers will present several hundred pages of documents — including police reports, psychologists’ evaluations, autopsy results and photos — to Jefferson County Superior Court Judge Thomas Majhan in the case of Robert Froehlich.
Froehlich, 29, formerly of Quilcene, is charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 15-year-old Allison Tornensis, whose body was found in the Little Quilcene River in July 1992.
Majhan will be the sole arbiter of Froehlich’s innocence or guilt after Froehlich agreed to a bench trial last month, waiving his right to a jury trial.
