PORT TOWNSEND — Paper or plastic?
The answer to the question often asked at supermarket checkstands will have a bearing on a decision expected next month to keep Port Townsend Paper Corp.’s paper bag plant operating.
President John Begley told employees last week that he would look at all options before making his recommendation to the company’s owners, the board of the Northwest Capital Appreciation Corp.
“Right now, the decision hasn’t been made,” said Chuck Madison, vice president for human resources, on Monday.
“We’re studying what to do and we’re looking at all our options.”
About 100 employees would be affected by shutting down the paper bag plant.
