PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson General Hospital’s hospice program has been approved as a Medicare-certified facility.
The certification will allow the hospice to provide increased services to terminally ill patients, said Vic Dirksen, hospital administrator.
Pain medicine, respite care, nursing care, equipment and hospitalization will be paid for under the program, according to hospice director Keri Johns.
“It provides the patient with more options,” Johns said Wednesday. “It gives the community more choices.”
