PORT TOWNSEND — Environmental concerns collided with economic reality as the Port of Port Townsend presented the first in a series of four public open houses on its updated comprehensive plan.
“One of the rules that I told the advisory committee — it has to be both economically feasible and environmentally feasible,” said Larry Crockett, port director. “If it fails on either one, we don’t do it.”
More than 75 people jammed the Port Townsend Yacht Club on Thursday to view maps of proposals for Point Hudson, the Boat Haven and the Quilcene Marina.
Other two-hour meetings are scheduled Tuesday at Port Hadlock Library, July 8 at Port Ludlow Beach Club, and July 9 at Quilcene Yacht Club.
