Few large parcels of land are available for commercial and light industrial developments in Jefferson County.
“There’s really not that much property zoned for light industrial or commercial use,” said Jefferson County Economic Development Council Executive Director Ann Avary. “Of the land that does have those zoning designations, some of it is built on and some of it just isn’t available. We do have very few choices.”
A list of available sites compiled by the Council tells the story:
* Just eight properties are for sale or lease on the council’s list of available commercial and industrial properties.
* Only two parcels larger than two acres are for sale — one 23.3-acre parcel near the airport and a 6.5-acre parcel in Port Hadlock.
That’s it.
There are no Glen Cove properties, no large tracts inside Port Townsend and no south county spreads.
