PORT TOWNSEND — On the Fox News show Hannity and Colmes, Lorna Tychostup was accused of treason for going to Iraq; in Port Townsend she is lauded as a hero.
Tychostup, of New Paltz, N.Y., was one of a handful of people riding a brightly painted old school bus that rumbled off the Washington State ferry into Port Townsend Thursday afternoon.
The bus is part of the nationwide movement Wheels of Justice.
People who have been to Iraq, Palestine and other areas of the Middle East come aboard the bus and travel from town to town to share their experiences.
Thursday’s stop was Port Townsend.
Local pacifist Anna Bachmann, who made news when she traveled to Iraq earlier and then again when she blocked a truck in front of Naval Magazine Indian Island, made the local stop possible.
