PORT TOWNSEND — Nearly 42 percent of the Northwest Maritime Center’s fund-raising goal has been met with the addition of $800,000 in new grants announced this week.
The Camilla Chandler Family Foundation of Los Angeles has given $500,000 toward a $1 million pledge, Northwest Maritime Center spokeswoman Shelly Randall said Tuesday.
On top of that, the Hugh and Jane Ferguson Foundation, the D.V. and Ida McEachern Charitable Trust, and the Juniper Foundation, all of Seattle, have collectively given an additional $300,000, Randall said.
A total of $4.2 million has now been raised toward reaching the Maritime Center’s $10.1 million goal, Randall said.
