PORT TOWNSEND — Daryl Moegling wants to make it clear that the pounding on his front door around 1 a.m. early Sunday morning was not just an attempted burglary.
“It was an attempted home invasion,” Moegling said.
“Our house was lit up like a Christmas tree, there were cars out front, and there were people inside, and they tried to come in anyways.
“That is not a burglary.”
The Moegling residence on Eddy street was one of four homes targeted in either attempted or successful break-ins early Sunday morning in Port Townsend.
All four occurred within blocks of each other on Eddy, Thomas and 15th streets, said Sgt Ed Green of the Port Townsend Police Department.
Two burglary attempts were successful, while the other two were not.
Green said that police believe the same person or people committed all four acts.
