PORT TOWNSEND — The Port of Port Townsend officially took over management of Point Hudson on Monday, but don’t expect any immediate major changes.
Port officials commemorated the takeover of the marina and recreational vehicle park with a cake-cutting ceremony.
Point Hudson also includes commercial areas and a hotel.
During the next several months, Point Hudson will undergo largely cosmetic and safety-related changes, Port General Manager Larry Crockett said.
“We’re going to take it slow,” Crockett said. “There will be a few visible things like fixing potholes.
“We’re also going to handle things that pose immediate safety concerns.”
Safety work will likely involve replacing electrical systems in some of the buildings and in the recreational-vehicle area, which the Port discovered was in disrepair after long-term tenants moved out of the area in recent weeks and months.
