PORT TOWNSEND — The state public health lab gave the post office — sealed since Saturday morning over a contamination scare — a clean bill of health Monday afternoon.
Postmaster Jim Espenson said the lab only told him that a yellow powder found on two letters Saturday wasn’t contaminated with anthrax.
He said the lab didn’t identify the substance beyond the fact that it wasn’t hazardous.
“The inspector didn’t say what it was, only that it was non-toxic,” Espenson said.
“We’re breathing easy.”
