Port of Port Townsend commissioners Wednesday selected engineering and planning firm Reid Middleton to conduct a comprehensive scheme update later this year.
The Everett firm was selected to update the plan and complete an analysis of the Port properties and their future use options.
“This involves economic analysis and visioning statements,”‘ Crockett said, noting the acquistion of Point Hudson, which the Port is set to take over April 1, was a major reason for the update.
The last scheme update was conducted in 1982, Port General Manager Larry Crockett said. The current update would likely by completed by the end of 2002.
“There’s no time limit on how often this takes place,” he said.
