PORT TOWNSEND — There’s be plenty of sweet music and fun this weekend during the 69th annual Rhododendron Festival, which carries the theme “Rhody Gras — Jazz it up in Port Townsend.”
Events started last weekend with the Rhody bicycle ride and continues through this weekend.
Queen Tracy Haynes, along with princesses Brooke Saul and Shannon Somes, add a regal touch to the events.
A schedule of events for today and the weekend appears on Page 9 of today’s Peninsula Spotlight magazine.
Grand Parade
The festival is keynoted Saturday by the Grand Parade, which winds its way through the downtown and uptown districts on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
Parade co-chair Lorna Delaney said 115 entries have signed up for this year’s parade, and she expects the event to last about two hours.
There have been more entries in other years, but Delaney said this year’s number is just about right.
