PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend Bicycle Association representatives asked Port of Port Townsend leaders Wednesday for permission to start the 2006 Rhody Tour bicycle ride at Port-owned Point Hudson.
The cycling event, set for May 7, is held during Port Townsend’s annual Rhododendron Festival.
Bicycle association representatives received a cool reception and were asked by Port commissioners to write a proposal and agreement that would cover issues such as portable toilets, parking and traffic management.
The matter will be reconsidered at the Port’s Jan. 11 meeting.
