Port Townsend: “Ring” screenwriter link between Jennifer Lopez movies

PORT TOWNSEND — If movie buffs played “Seven degrees of Jennifer Lopez”, instead of “Seven degrees of Kevin Bacon,” they could make the connection between the actress and the next movie to be filmed here.

Lopez stars in the film “Enough” shot this summer in Port Townsend, set for a release in spring 2002.

The screenwriter for the Dreamworks SKG movie “Ring,” Scott Frank, also wrote the screenplay to “Out of Sight,” which starred Lopez and George Clooney. The movie will be filmed next month in Port Townsend.

Other screenplays by Frank may help residents understand just how big “Ring” could be.

Frank wrote “Get Shorty,” starring John Travolta, “Malice,” with Nicole Kidman, “Little Man Tate,” with Jodie Foster and “Dead Again,” starring Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson.
