Seven teenagers were taken to area hospitals — one by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle — following a two-car collision early Sunday at McPherson and 14th streets in Port Townsend.
Authorities did not release names or conditions of the injured, except for a 19-year-old in critical condition at Harborview.
According to Michael Mingee, fire chief of East Jefferson Fire Rescue, one vehicle carrying six people was struck by a car carrying two people about 2 a.m. Sunday.
One person had to be extricated by rescue crews, and others may have been thrown from the vehicles, Mingee said.
Four people were taken to Jefferson Healthcare hospital, and two more were taken to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.
The collision is under investigation by the Washington State Patrol, Mingee said.
