PORT TOWNSEND — The two teenagers charged with starting the fire that burned down historical Aldrich’s grocery have been ordered to not talk to each other or visit the vacant lot where the market once stood.
The boy and girl, both 14, must appear in Jefferson County Superior Court again Nov. 13 at 8:30 a.m. for arraignment.
Because of their age, the Port Townsend girl and Bremerton boy aren’t named.
The teenagers are charged as juveniles with first-degree reckless burning, a Class C felony.
The charge is different than arson because the teenagers didn’t intend to cause damage to the 114-year-old Aldrich’s building, 940 Lawrence St., prosecutors and police have said.
