PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend Paper Corp. managers have reached a tentative agreement with union representatives on a possible severance package for the 90 employees who will be laid off when the bag plant closes in late December.
“We have a tentative agreement on closure,” said Chuck Madison, Port Townsend Paper vice president of human resources.
Union and management officials declined to provide specifics on the package, which still must be approved by union members.
Bag plant workers are members of Paper Allied Industrial Chemical Energy Workers International Union Local No. 8-0175.
