PORT TOWNSEND — The pacifist who blocked the entrance to Naval Magazine Indian Island was arraigned Monday in Jefferson County District Court.
Anna Bachmann, 40, will appear for a pre-trial hearing before Judge Mark Huth on May 7 at 9 a.m.
She was arrested for disorderly conduct March 10 after sitting at the installation’s entrance, blocking a truck from leaving.
Bachmann said she will be tried by a jury in the matter.
About 20 supporters filled the courtroom Monday while Bachmann and her attorney, Richard Davies of Port Townsend, appeared before Huth.
The arraignment took only a few minutes.
Afterward, the procession of supporters walked with Bachmann out of the courthouse where a television crew was waiting to interview her.
