QUILCENE — The state Department of Transportation announced that the construction on U.S. Highway 101 north of Quilcene at two unnamed tributaries of Leland Creek reopened to vehicular traffic on Friday evening.
The project was not scheduled to be completed until Monday evening.
The road had been closed between state Highway 104 and Center Road to allow for the replacement of two culverts with larger culverts to improve fish passage.
The temporary traffic signal on U.S. Highway 104 at Center Road have been removed, according to a DOT press release.
The construction site at Leland Creek is still using alternating traffic on the single lane bypass for approximately two more weeks, a DOT spokesperson stated.
Real-time traffic information is available at www.wsdot.com/travel/real-time/map or on the WSDOT app.
