This one is for the skin-crawling, hitch-hiking rodent files.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched Saturday morning to stop what was believed to a suicide in progress in Quilcene. An empty station wagon was parked on the side of the road, engine running and a hose extended from the exhaust pipe to the window.
Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call with lights and siren, said Jefferson County Undersheriff Tim Perry.
About one minute later, all responding units were called off. It seems that the owner of the car, outside, was trying to kill a rat inside.
