Price Ford Lincoln rakes in funds for Port Angeles High School with test-drives

PORT ANGELES — A Price Ford Lincoln fundraiser Sunday raised $5,420 for the Port Angeles High School music program.

A total of 271 people turned out to test-drive Fords at the high school, the company said in a statement.

Price Ford Lincoln and Ford Motor Co. donated $20 per test-drive.

In the fall, a similar program raised about $6,000 for the athletic program, said Principal Garry Cameron.

This event will go toward the high school band and other music programs.

About 120 students at the high school participate in band classes annually, Cameron said.

“With the cutbacks in school budgets, fundraising becomes even more important for our students,” he said.

“We can’t thank Price Ford Lincoln enough for offering us the Drive One 4 UR School opportunity.”

Cars featured were new Ford models such as F-150s and F-350s as well as a Fiesta, Mustang, Fusion, Explorer, Raptor and Escape. Test-drivers were not charged.

‘Extremely excited’

“We were extremely excited and proud to see so many people show up to support Port Angeles High School,” said David Price, owner of Price Ford Lincoln.

“It was a great way to help our high school students while also showcasing our exciting Ford lineup of vehicles.”

The fundraiser was part of Ford Motor Co.’s Drive One 4 UR School program.

Since the program’s inception in 2007, Drive One 4 UR School has offered 275,000 test-drives at more than 1,500 events to generate more than $5 million in donations for high schools nationwide.

The money raised during the Drive One 4 UR School program has helped ensure that extracurricular actives like sports and music programs continue in local communities.

To date, Price Ford Lincoln has raised nearly $12,000 for area high school students through Drive One 4 UR School.
