PORT ANGELES — Price Ford will host a Drive One 4 Ur School fundraiser for the Port Angeles High School orchestra program Sunday, Oct. 2.
The goal is to raise $8,000, according to David Price, owner of Price Ford, 3311 E. U.S. Highway 101, Port Angeles.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Price Ford will offer test-drives of a new Ford vehicle at Port Angeles High School, 304 E. Park Ave.
The test-drives are free to participants; Price Ford will donate $20 per vehicle to the high school program.
“We are very excited and honored that Price Ford is willing to help us fundraise for our music program,” said Ron Jones, Port Angeles High School Orchestra director.
“We are striving to get more students involved in music and career development events, and learn new skills both inside and outside the classroom.
“Getting community support is a key for our students.”
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Port Angeles High School,” Price said.
“It will be a great day of fun test-drives and no salespeople — all for a great cause.”
There is no pressure to buy a vehicle. There is a limit of one test-drive per household. All drivers must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license and valid automobile insurance to test-drive. Car seats cannot be accommodated for this event.
“Price Ford has sponsored and raised over $50,000 for local high schools through Drive 4 Ur School Events,” said Joel Elliott, event director.
Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program began in 2007 and since then has sponsored 1,500 events in 49 states, raising more than $5 million for before- and after-school activities in high schools across the country. Locally, Price Ford has donated more than $30,000 to student groups at PAHS through its Drive One 4 UR School fundraisers.
Funds raised during the Drive One 4UR School programs ensure extracurricular activities like sports, music, career and technical education programs continue in local communities.
