VOTERS MIGHT STILL be adjusting to the early primary — Aug. 18 — but the Peninsula Daily News’ has been busy interviewing and researching the candidates.
The North Olympic Peninsula’s only primary election voter guide was in copies of last Friday’s PDN that were circulated only within the Port Angeles city limits and in Jefferson County.
The Aug. 18 primary is unusual in that only voters living within the city of Port Angeles and in Districts 2 and 3 of the Port of Port Townsend and Brinnon’s Fire District No. 4 will be voting in the all-mail election because their jurisdictions either have more than two candidates for office or, in the case of Brinnon, a tax levy will be decided.
Free copies of the 2009 Primary Election Voter Guide are available at no charge at the Clallam and Jefferson county courthouses and at PDN offices in Port Angeles (305 W. First St.) and Port Townsend (1939 E. Sims Way).
