PORT ANGELES — A propane-powered refrigerator is suspected as the cause of a fire that destroyed a 19-foot travel trailer west of Port Angeles.
The trailer at 3012 Lower Elwha Road was fully engulfed in flames Monday when Clallam County Fire District No. 2 crews arrived.
Owner Les Black called the fire department after seeing flames shooting from inside the trailer. He pulled it from his house and disconnected two propane tanks.
Black said he had lighted the pilot light of the refrigerator only a few hours before the fire. The first flames, he said, were seen above the refrigerator.
There were no injuries, a fire district spokesperson said.
