The second half of the year’s property taxes are due Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Payments can be made in person at the treasurer’s offices in Clallam and Jefferson counties, online, by mail or in a drop box.
The first half were due April 30.
Payments can be dropped off at or mailed to the Clallam County Treasurer’s Office at the county courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Suite 3, Port Angeles; and at the Jefferson County Treasurer’s Office at the county courthouse at 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
Clallam County has only one drop-off location now, Treasurer Selinda Barkhuis reminded property owners.
That location is at the Fourth Street entrance of the Clallam County Courthouse.
Locations once available in Sequim and Forks are no longer taking payments. The Sequim Department of Licensing office closed earlier this year, and Forks District Court can no longer accept payments because of budget cuts.
Jefferson County
Jefferson County has several drop boxes.
They are at Bank of America in Port Townsend and Port Hadlock, Columbia Bank in Port Ludlow, U.S. Bank in Quilcene and one behind the Jefferson County Courthouse.
Jefferson County also offers automatic withdrawal, said Treasurer Judi Morris.
Forms to set up an automatic withdrawal from a bank account are available on the Treasurer’s Office website, http://tinyurl.com/8ueuvaq.
The forms must be delivered to the Treasurer’s Office by Wednesday, Morris said.
Credit cards
Both the Clallam and Jefferson County treasurer’s offices can accept most credit and debit cards, either at the counter or online at www.clallam.net/Treasurer for Clallam County or http://tinyurl.com/8ueuvaq for Jefferson County.
A convenience fee will be charged by the credit and/or debit card provider.
Payments made or postmarked after Oct. 31 will be considered delinquent and will be subject to 1 percent monthly delinquent interest.
On Dec. 1, an additional 8 percent penalty will be charged.
