Property owners have a slight reprieve from paying their first-half property taxes for 2005.
But don’t count the change — the reprieve is a two-day deadline delay because the normal April 30 deadline falls on Saturday.
The deadline will be Monday, May 2.
Here is a rundown in each county:
Clallam County
Payments to the Clallam County treasurer can be placed in the drive-up drop box near the entrance to the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The box is emptied every day, including May 2.
Taxpayers also can use drop-off locations in Forks and Sequim or by regular mail — making sure their envelopes are postmarked no later than midnight May 2.
They can take payments to the Sequim Department of Licensing office, 1001 E. Washington St., Sequim, or at Forks City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
Payments at the Sequim and Forks locations must be made by check or money order; cash can be accepted only at the courthouse in Port Angeles.
Payment also can be made by credit card by calling 888-272-9829 or through Internet sites www.officialpayment.com or www.clallam.net at the Taxes and Finance Section.
Use the Clallam County jurisdiction code, 5603, and press 1 for real estate.
This service adds a fee of between 2½ and 4 percent.
Payments received on or after Tuesday, May 3, will be subject to a 1 percent delinquency penalty.
