PORT ANGELES — Clallam County commissioners Monday directed personnel staff to draft a new pay and benefits policy for employees activated for military duty.
The policy, which will be returned to commissioners for final approval, will include recommendations from County Administrator Dan Engelbertson that oppose paying supplemental salary and continuing retirement benefits to employees called to military duty.
“Loss of salary is a common issue with reservists called to duty,” Engelbertson said in a memo to commissioners.
