FORKS — The ballot wording for the proposed recall of Mayor Nedra Reed is now in the hands of Clallam County Superior Court and will go to a hearing later this month.
The wording, written by prosecuting attorney Mark Nichols, outlines a 10-page charging document filed by six Forks residents on March 17.
Superior Court Judge Ken Williams is expected April 10 to set the date or dates of hearings to determine the sufficiency of the charges and the ballot wording.
The synopsis, which had to total fewer than 200 words, comes in at 117 words and includes six of the seven charges in the document.
“I think it is adequate,” said Tom Scott, one of the people who drafted the original charges.
“This is a complex subject, so to summarize it in 200 words is a complex process.”
