PORT ANGELES — The City of Port Angeles Department of Community & Economic Development has extended the public comment period for one of Morrison Excavating’s applications for a project on the site of Extreme Sports Park, which is owned by Dan and Kelie Morrison’s A2Z Enterprises. Public comment on the project’s SEPA environmental checklist application was extended from July 30 to Aug. 16 to allow the public more time to review the information. Public comment on the accompanying wetland application did not change, and is still due Aug. 16. The proposed project would involve removing fill from wetland on the property and using it to a build berm to reduce noise from a direct micro sprint track that would be built near Lower Elwha Road and Edgewood Drive. Future activity would include constructing parking and storage, four outbuildings and a gravel access road.
The revised public notice and SEPA checklist, wetland assessment and mitigation plan can be found on the city’s website: www.cityofpa.us/145/Current-Projects-and-Plans
