QUILCENE — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has identified Patrick and Janice Yarr as the two individuals who were found dead in a fire in Quilcene last Thursday.
And they apparently were killed before the fire, which was deliberately set, sheriff’s investigators said today.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, investigators have determined that the deaths were not the result of the fire or its aftermath.
There has been no known indication of animosity or domestic issues related to the Yarrs, investigators said.
Results from the King County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed their identities over the weekend.
In a statement released today, the Sheriff”s Office said:
“The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in their investigation by a number of agencies, including the Washington State Patrol, Federal Bureau of Investigation and their Behavioral Science Unit, U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and the local Arson Investigation Task Force.
“The Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office is closely monitoring the investigation.”
A number of individuals are being interviewed and additional physical evidence is being gathered and analyzed.
