QUILCENE — A local man who rode his bicycle to town every day was killed Friday morning in an collision with an automobile on a foggy stretch of U.S. Highway 101
Henry Schapp, who lived on West Leland Valley Road, was riding his bicycle in the southbound lane near Lord’s Lake Loop at 7:15 a.m. when he was struck from behind by a car driven by Garrett J. W. Holbrook, 16, of Quilcene.
Schapp was transported to Jefferson General Hospital in Port Townsend, where he died at 9:18 a.m.
Holbrook was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
